Where Can You Travel from Dubai?

Your passport sets the baseline and your UAE residence visa unlocks more. See every destination grouped by how you get in — each one dated and linked to its official source.

8 passports covered, every entry verified against an official source

Quick answer

A valid UAE residence visa unlocks entry routes your passport alone does not get. An Indian passport holder living in Dubai can reach 29 of the destinations tracked here without an embassy visa — 6 of them only because of UAE residency, including resident-linked eVisa and on-arrival schemes across the GCC and the Caucasus. Pick your passport below for your own list, then confirm each rule at the official source linked on its card.

How UAE Residency Changes the Map

Three layers decide where you can go. Your passport is the baseline, residency adds routes and each destination sets its own conditions.

Passport baseline

What your nationality gets everywhere — visa-free deals, on-arrival access and eVisa eligibility that apply with or without residency.

Residency unlock

Destinations that extend on-arrival or eVisa access specifically to UAE residence visa holders — the explorer counts these for you.

Per-trip conditions

Minimum residence validity, profession lists, onward tickets, bookings or funds. Shown verbatim on each card, never adjudicated by us.

Before You Book

  • •Passport validity: most destinations require six months beyond your travel dates — renew early if you are close.
  • •Residence visa validity: resident-linked schemes usually need three to six months remaining. If a card says “renew first”, sort your renewal before booking.
  • •Airline checks happen first: carriers verify entry eligibility at check-in. Carry printed proof of anything a card lists — eVisa approvals, return tickets, bookings.
  • •Re-entering the UAE: travelling while a residence renewal is in process can complicate re-entry — check your file status in the GDRFA Dubai app before you fly, or ask your PRO. If your visa has lapsed, see overstay fines first.

Official Channels

  • Destination portals — every card above links the destination's own immigration or eVisa portal; that link is the final word
  • u.ae — UAE government information on residence visas and validity rules
  • GDRFA Dubai — gdrfad.gov.ae for the status and validity of Dubai-issued residence visas
  • Your airline — carriers publish entry requirements and are the ones who check them at the gate

Visa-Free Travel FAQ

Which countries can UAE residents visit without a visa?+
It depends on your passport first and your residency second. Some destinations admit certain passports visa-free outright, while others — Armenia and Azerbaijan among them — extend visa-on-arrival or eVisa access to holders of a valid UAE residence visa that the passport alone would not get. The explorer above shows both layers for your passport, with the official source for every entry.
Can UAE residents visit other GCC countries without a visa?+
Not automatically. Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman each run their own entry scheme for UAE residents — typically an eVisa or visa on arrival that depends on your profession as listed on the residence visa and on how much validity it has left. The conditions are shown verbatim on each GCC card above; always pre-check on the destination's official portal before booking.
Does the validity left on my residence visa affect where I can travel?+
Yes. Most residency-linked schemes require your UAE residence visa to remain valid for a minimum period — commonly three to six months — at the time of travel. If yours is close to expiry, renew it before relying on any resident-only entry route.
Why does my profession matter for GCC eVisas?+
Some GCC entry schemes for UAE residents apply only to certain professions recorded on the residence visa. The lists are set by each destination and change without notice, which is why this page shows the condition and links the official portal rather than deciding for you.
Is visa-free or visa-on-arrival entry guaranteed?+
No. Admission is always at the border officer's discretion, and airlines can deny boarding if documents look incomplete. Carry proof of onward travel, accommodation and funds where listed, and check the destination's official source close to your travel date.
What about the UK, Schengen area and the US?+
For most passports covered here these remain full embassy or online applications regardless of UAE residency — a UAE residence visa does not replace a Schengen, UK or US visa. British and American passport holders travel visa-free to many of these areas; everyone else should apply well ahead of peak season.
How current is this information?+
Every destination card shows the date we last verified it against the official source linked on that card. Visa rules change without notice, so treat the card as a verified starting point and the official link as the final word before you book.
