Community
Dubai expat community, without the noise
A Facebook group for people moving to Dubai, an opt-in WhatsApp Channel, a newsletter and a monthly meetup. You choose what to join. We never message you first.
Quick answer
To make friends in Dubai, start with one group you will actually use. DubaiExpatHub is opening Moving to Dubai: Start Here on Facebook, a one-way WhatsApp Channel called DubaiExpatHub Daily, the Dubai Dispatch newsletter and a monthly New in Dubai meetup. The group and channel links appear on this page when they are live.
Where to join
The group is for planning and the first year. The channel is a daily note you follow by choice. Both links stay off this page until the real addresses exist.
WhatsApp Channel
DubaiExpatHub Daily. One useful item a day. You follow it. We never message you individually.
The follow link and QR code will appear here once the channel is open.
The Dubai Dispatch is the email. Three guides go out with it. They are not files you can download on this page.
Dubai Move Starter Pack
A checklist for the first 90 days, for people planning a move.
Your offer report
A written read of a job offer, once that checker is on the site.

New in Dubai meetups
A monthly evening for people who are new in the city. A date is listed only after the venue is confirmed. No host logo is shown unless that host has agreed.
The next New in Dubai evening is not on the calendar yet. The date, the venue and the host will show here once they are confirmed.
Ask a question
Ask Rafi™, the AI concierge. The question below is filled in for you and nothing is sent until you tap send. You can also put the same question to the group.
Ask Rafi™ this
When the group is open, you can post the same question there. The link will show on this page.
Questions from members
A question appears here only after the person who asked it has agreed we can publish it. We do not invent questions or put words in a member's mouth.
Nothing is published yet. Once the group is open and a member has agreed, this week's questions and the answer will show here.
Common questions
How do I make friends in Dubai?
Start with one recurring group rather than a dozen apps. DubaiExpatHub is opening a Facebook group called Moving to Dubai: Start Here for people planning a move and in their first year, plus an opt-in WhatsApp Channel, a newsletter and a monthly New in Dubai meetup. The group and channel links appear on this page when they are live.
Is there a Dubai expat community I can join?
Yes. It is the Facebook group, the WhatsApp Channel, the Dubai Dispatch newsletter and the monthly meetup. You choose which ones to join. Nothing here messages you first.
Are there new in Dubai meetups?
DubaiExpatHub will host a monthly New in Dubai evening. The next date, venue and host are listed on this page when they are confirmed. If the list is empty, no date is booked yet.
Does the WhatsApp Channel message me privately?
No. A WhatsApp Channel is a one-way broadcast you follow by choice. DubaiExpatHub does not send cold WhatsApp messages and does not message Channel followers one to one.
What do I get if I join the newsletter?
The Dubai Dispatch. Subscribers are also first in line for three guides: a first 90 days checklist, an offer report when that tool is available and a list of 30 free and cheap things to do by area. Those guides are not separate downloads on this page.
